Tinbergen ACM and demolition

The client approached us to oversee the demolition of the original Tinbergen building, which included complete asbestos removal, substantial infrastructure redevelopment and the reconfiguration and redesign of laboratory facilities. 

We worked closely with the client throughout the tender process, navigating the planning application and drawing on our team’s expertise in the safe removal of asbestos. 

During the build, the client requested ongoing meetings and reporting and so we created several bespoke tools to track progress, including monthly management reports, virtual site walk-arounds and co-ordination meetings with university staff and committee members to ensure the project met with user expectations. 

To keep within the client’s budget, we collaborated with a cost consultant to provide a robust benchmarking comparison, choosing local architects and contractors that were most competent and economical.
