James Thomson

As a primary industry, forestry has a real commercial value as a raw material essential to so many different sectors and James’s role is to maximise this asset to the benefit of his clients. In doing so, he is delivering financial and environmental value.

Having spent several years working in the Canadian forestry industry, James is no stranger to large-scale projects and takes an holistic approach to woodland management rather than individual operations. This rounded view of the industry is invaluable to his clients.

He also has an interest in the financial aspect of forestry, creating cash flow projections for clients to enable sound, long-term investments to be made. James is working with some of our biggest clients to deliver integrated forestry and renewable energy projects.

As well as managing established commercial forestry plantations, he is involved with woodland creation projects, balancing the interests of the investor with the needs of the public and other stakeholders to deliver well-conceived schemes across Scotland.
